One of our kids at work (a 9 year old boy) learned how to braid last week. He was anxious and excited to show off his new skill. Paige and I (both with short hair!) were his guinea pigs. He braided Paige's hair and was super proud of himself. He sat on the couch by me to braid my hair. As he started to pull the longest part of my otherwise short hair into sections to braid, he stopped and shuddered. "You have a bald spot!" I'm pretty sure I don't. He kept insisting. I've never seen anyone so repulsed by me before! Even after Paige told him the rules for braiding someone's hair ("You can't tell them they have bald spots when you're braiding their hair. It's against the rules.") he was still insisting. After a few minutes of arguing (good naturedly) with him about it, he attempted to begin braiding again. "Oh, Kayla," he said, "Don't worry! It's not a bald spot at all. It's just your forhead." Whew! That was a close one.....

Ok I'm still laughing and will be now forever when I think of bald spots.
The things kids say...I wonder what it looks like inside their little heads.
I'm with Melissa, I will forever be laughing about this and will never think of bald spots the same way again.
Great story!
Thanks that made me laugh.
That is hilarious! I love it!
The best part is I can totally picture you arguing with the kid, and then silently being relieved when it's decided you really don't have a bald spot. Love you Kayla.
Miss you. let's hang out. Sometime, you know, when we're in the same state. Love.
If only he would have known the rules earlier... I kind of love our job sometimes, but just sometimes.
