I've been going through a lot of old pictures and cards and I've been remembering some great great times in my life!!!
I remember randomly stopping at Mueller Park Junior High to run through the sprinklers one fall night with Susan and Emily. It was cold - and totally worth it! So were the Apple Jacks consumed later.
I remember the Cedar City trip we took and washing our hair at the car wash. I remember Ralph Pond only letting us take the Tahoe because I promised I wouldn't walk on my broken foot until the doctor told me I was allowed to.
I remember drawing names with the girls for Christmas. I remember Jill chugging root beer in Brynn's basement. I remember a LARGE tub of caramel popcorn and drinking hot chocolate.
I remember monthly dinners with special ice cream dishes and quilt blocks being exchanged. (My quilt STILL isn't done yet...... No comment)
I remember a family trip to Nauvoo and stopping to get pictures take in the corn. I remember swinging at the park behind the temple with Katie. I remember running into old family friends at the bakery in Old Nauvoo. I remember walking down Parley's Street and reading accounts of faithful pioneers.
I remember countless baby showers and bridal showers thrown together for girlfriends. (I still think that any combination of any us girls would make an amazing Relief Society Presidency.)
I remember making calendars for missionaries. Donuts and Cider, anyone?
I remember early morning seminary council meetings with running and jumping into a HUGE pile of clothes we were donating to the homeless shelter. (That was the most productive meeting ever. I loved it!)
I remember piling on Mom and Dad's bed to read scriptures as a family.
I remember buying chewy cupcakes at the store with Katie and eating them before we got home and hiding the "evidence" in the outside garbage.
I remember Flower Day and the infamous orange plant.
I remember going to the zoo with the Paynes and feeding the deer.
I remember dates with Dad - movies and dinners and shopping trips.
I remember years of pumpkin carving nights with extended "family" - Martinez, Moyes, Kent and Hayes families.
I remember walking to school with Kelly singing French Christmas carols at the top of our lungs. (We were always late. Shocker!)
I remember making peanut butter bars so many times in high school that I still hesitate to make them to this day. (Talk about overdose...)
I remember coloring books and crayons carried throughout my years of high school. (Mr. Morrill probably still hates me.)
I remember Melissa and Dru spending so many Sundays napping and eating with us. Masaru and Jax would share an orange and Dru and I would share Pop Tarts. (There was no formality - we would always just eat what we had on hand - even if that meant oranges and Pop Tarts. I miss the Nakayas.)
I remember Christmas parties with the Phillips and exchanging gifts that really don't come close to expressing how we feel about eachother. (Remember the Spike ornament?)
I remember whenever Mom was sick in the hospital, scores of people coming to help us - whether that be by fielding phone calls, making food, shopping with us, or crying with us.
I remember baby sitting Austin when he was a baby and finding fire bug legs sticking out of his mouth. (Yeah, he would eat them. Makes since, since the cat would eat his food...)
What a blessing to have such amazing people consistently in my life.

Kayla. I love you.
I love this post. I miss hanging out with you on Sunday nights and afternoons as well.
Love you girl.
Kayla, all these people and more are just as blessed to have YOU in THEIR lives too! Love ya girl!
Oh Kayla. Do you know how fun it would be to get your pictures and my pictures together and just laugh and cry? It would probably take 3 whole days to look through them all, but it would be so fun. Why is Syracuse so far away from Bountiful? I love you and miss you.
Kayla- I love you!! We should start going to lunch once a month again so we can talk and laugh again!!!
What great memories! Maybe bug protein makes you huge.
Remember the day when Nick threw Val head first into the swimming pool and we were all afraid for our lives? Great times, great times. Or how about Nick's famous "I'm glad I like you now Kayla." Although he hated Christmas shopping with us if we weren't being "productive." We should remind him we were shopping, not buying.
I remember coming home from an date out with Cameron and you crying, cuz Kensi's arm popped out and the in-laws stopped by.
I remember staying up late making Christmas cards last year. Yours always turned out cuter than mine.
I remember you visiting me while I was on bedrest and making me laugh...really hard...a lot!
I remember family home evenings playing with your family in Salt Lake City Cemetary.
I have so many memories with you. I miss you even though you live next door.
Remember when you slept over at our house and brought caramel popcorn? That was fantastic!
And remember how we used to play library and spies?
And all the night games . . . oh, we had such fun!
What a fun post! I loved all those great times. We sure had fun didn't we?
I'm still in the market for a caramel popcorn tub....any idea where to get one?
